Why Is It Important to Balance the Pelvis?
The pelvis is at the center of our body.
I like to think of the pelvis as a “container” that holds and protects many of our important organs — including the uterus, ovaries, bladder, and parts of the intestines.
That is why I believe it is important to first create a healthy foundation by caring for the pelvis.
Pelvic care is not simply about “putting the bones back into place.”
It is about releasing tension around the pelvis, improving mobility, and supporting healthy circulation through the surrounding tissues.
For Women Trying to Conceive
The pelvis houses the uterus and ovaries, which are important parts of the reproductive system.
When the muscles and tissues around the pelvis are tense, it may affect movement and circulation in the surrounding area.
This is why, for women who are trying to conceive, I believe it is important to care for the pelvic area and create an environment where circulation and healthy tissue movement can be supported.
Of course, pelvic care alone cannot make someone pregnant. Fertility is influenced by many different factors.
But taking time to relax the body, support circulation, and become more aware of the pelvic area can be a meaningful part of self-care during this journey.
During Perimenopause and Menopause
As estrogen levels change during perimenopause and menopause, the body can go through many changes.
Some women experience hot flashes, fatigue, sleep changes, swelling, changes in circulation, or simply feel that their body does not feel the same as it used to.
This is a time when taking care of the whole body becomes especially important.
Releasing tension around the pelvis and supporting circulation can help create a greater sense of ease and connection with the body.
Many women also carry years of tension from sitting, working, stress, and everyday movement.
Instead of thinking, “This is just part of getting older,” I believe we can ask:
“What can I do to help my body feel more comfortable?”
Pelvic care can be one part of that process.
Pelvic Care Is Not Just for Women
Pelvic care is important for men, too.
The male pelvis also contains important organs, including the bladder, intestines, and prostate.
The pelvis is also connected to many muscles around the hips, lower back, abdomen, and glutes.
Sitting for long hours, driving, exercising, or standing for extended periods can all place stress on this area.
Releasing tension around the pelvis and improving its mobility can support easier movement and help the body relax.
The pelvis is not just a “women’s area.”
It is an important foundation of the human body — for both men and women.

Start by Taking Care of the “Container”
When I look at the body, I don't only think about what is inside.
I also think about the environment those organs are living in.
What is happening around the pelvis?
Is there unnecessary tension?
Does the area move freely?
How is the surrounding circulation?
The body is connected.
That is why I believe in starting with the foundation — the “container” that holds so many important organs.
When we care for the pelvis, we are caring for the body as a whole.
And sometimes, taking care of the body simply begins with slowing down, paying attention, and listening to what it is trying to tell us.
